HOT OFF THE PRESS: A “Newsy” Musical Comedy

HOT OFF THE PRESS: A “Newsy” Musical Comedy
Script & Songs by Jerry Way
    Thursday - Saturday, March 26 – 28
    Dinner at 6:30 p.m., Show at 7:30 p.m.
Sunday, March 29 at 2:00 p.m. (show only), Heyde Center for the Arts, 3 S. High St., Chippewa Falls

The Budley Bugle is a weekly newspaper in a sleepy small town. The arrival of a charismatic stranger with a secret mission quickly turns Budley into a community “divided against itself.”  Old friendships are disrupted by petty squabbles, romantic jealousies, and political intrigue.  With a small town’s way of life hanging in the balance, the staff at the Bugle confronts the crisis in surprisingly funny and tuneful fashion. A large and talented cast of Wayward Players, directed by Jerry & Carol Way, proudly takes the stage at the Heyde Center for the Arts to delight audiences with this love letter to small town newspapers.  Dinner by Karl’s BBQ Express will feature Karl’s Famous BBQ Chicken or Flaky Buttery Cod Filet accompanied by Baby-red Potatoes, Creamy Cucumber Salad and Cornbread with Honey Butter.
Dinner Show Tickets: Adults $35, Seniors $34, Youth $27

    Savoring the Arts “The Speakeasy”

Saturday, April 4 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m., Heyde Center for the Arts, 3 S. High St., Chippewa Falls

Take a step back to the days of speakeasies, flappers, and Prohibition. The year 2020 is very special as the Heyde Center for the Arts turns twenty years old. It also happens to be the 100th anniversary of the start of the Roaring Twenties when women won the right to vote and Jazz music came of age. On April 4th, the Heyde Center will be throwing the party of the decade, but only those with the secret knock and the password will be allowed to enter. Sshhhhh! Keep it under your hat as we don’t want any trouble from the authorities! Food, entertainment and dress will be inspired by this very interesting time in the history of the United States. Come enjoy a wonderful party and support the mission and vision of the Heyde Center for the Arts. Tickets: $75 per person or $600 per table with special table sponsor recognition.
