House Concert Series ~ Tuesdays at the Heyde Center

House Concert Series - Tuesdays at the Heyde Center, June 23 through July 28, August 18 through Sept 1

    Food 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Music 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

The Heyde Center auditorium has been empty for far too long. This summer we are hosting six weeks of mini-concerts by established local performers such as Nick Anderson and the Skinny Lovers and The CollECtive Choir as well as new artists Matt Boelter and Ramblin' Lou Carver. The concerts will be held in the auditorium with the exception of The CollECtive Choir, which will be held outside in the parking lot depending on weather. In addition to the music, we will have a food truck set up in the parking lot, and inside there will be a full bar available. There is no cost for admission; but free-will donations to the performers are requested.

June 23rd - Nick Anderson & The Skinny Lovers—voted 'Best Rock Band' by Volume One readers was formed in 2015 and independently released a series of EPs that landed them a Number 1 and Number 8 spot on independent radio.

    Food Truck: Rosy's Texas Outpost

    Food Truck: Dhimiters

July 14th - Ramblin' Lou Carver—an Americana “folk-grass” singer/songwriter who plays mostly original music with a few covers by artists like Colter Wall, Bob Dylan, Charley Crockett and George Jones.

August 18 - The Part Time Duo - Husband and Wife A.J. and Alissa Haut aren't the run of the mill acoustic act. Their performances are chalk full of great cover songs that they love to sing and dance to, sprinkled with their own brand of comedy. Never the same show twice.

    Food Truck: Island Vibe

August 25 - Aaron Lee Kaplan - Aaron is a solo acoustic blues/folk fingerstyle guitarist as well as a singer/songwriter. He plays slide guitar and also add percussion to my voice and guitar with a foot stomp box. When performing, Aaron does a mix of originals and classic rock, blues and folk covers.

Live Music with Justin Jay Arnold at The Leinie Lodge

Leinenkugel's Leinie Lodge welcomes Justin Jay Arnold on Friday, August 7, 5-8pm. 124 E Elm Street, Chippewa Falls.

Justin Jay Arnold is a songwriter from Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin who is guaranteed to pull at your heartstrings with his sandpapered vocals and lyrics that are honest and personal. He is a part of the emerging outlaw movement growing in Wisconsin's Chippewa Valley and has been nominated multiple times for Best Folk Performer in Volume One’s Best of the Chippewa Valley reader’s poll. Drawing inspiration from his own life, as well as the triumphs and struggles of others, Justin has been compared to Chris Stapleton, Cody Jinks, Johnny Cash and Kurt Cobain in the way that he will grab your heart and ears with his songs, and you won't want him to let go.

Having released two albums previously in a self-titled EP in 2010 and his "Death and Life" album in 2014, he is currently working on three new albums, which will release throughout 2020. He has opened for and/or played alongside such acts as: Hymn for Her; Evergreen Grass Band; Dames; Michael Perry and the Longbeds; Eggplant Heroes; Greg Gilbertson; James Ignacio; Past & The Present; Brian Bethke; Adelyn Rose; Mark Mallman; Caitlin McGarvey and most recently, the legendary David Allan Coe. You can often hear Justin’s songs on Converge Radio, 99.9 FM in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, and the rest of the Chippewa Valley. Converge Radio Station Manager Scott Morfitt has referred to his music as “part of the DNA" of that station.

Script & Songs by Jerry Way
    Projected Visuals by Carol Way
Thursday and Friday, August 6 and 7 at 7:30 pm, Heyde Center for the Arts, 3 South High St, Chippewa Falls

Is there something in the beauty, power and danger of the Chippewa River that inspires creative expression?  Does life in the north woods nurture artistic activity?   Are there folks living in the Chippewa Valley who love the arts?  The answer to all three questions is a resounding YES!  THE SWAMPERS: “From the Heart” celebrates community arts – music, creative writing, the visual arts, theatre and dance.  Kicking off the Chippewa Falls Pure Water Days celebration, the musical lumberjack aggregation performs stories and songs by Jerry Way with projected photographs by Carol Way. The entertaining and informative odyssey features the vocal & instrumental “swampgrass” harmonies and storytelling abilities of Amanda Schafer, Judy Brist, Kathy Danielson, Tim Danielson, Rob Kuchta and Jerry Way.
