5 Ways for Your 2019 Summer to Hit a High Note

Warmer weather is on its way and with that brings longer days, summer vacation, and the beloved music festival season. No matter your Spotify playlist or presets in your car, the Chippewa Valley is going to have something to strike your fancy from June through August. Here’s what you have to look forward to:

Northwoods Blues Festival: June 21st – 22nd

This soulful festival was voted one of the top five Best New Festivals in the nation in 2015 and hasn’t lost traction since. This year, acts such as Savoy Brown and Joanna Connor will be showcasing their talents with the beautiful Chippewa River as their backdrop in Chippewa Riverfront. Once the festival closes down each night, fans are invited to check out the after glow at Loopy’s Grill and Saloon where live music and festivities will continue. As if you needed any more reason to attend, fans will be happy to hear that there will be a free shuttle doing a loop between area hotels, local campgrounds, and festival grounds from 11:00 AM until the conclusion of the after party.

Country Fest: June 27th – 29th

For more than 30 years, this country music event has been bringing an all-star lineup to Cadott, WI. With Luke Bryan, Sugarland and Little Big Town headlining Country Fest 2019, fest goers are sure to have a good time. Between acts, attendees can play the giant games, tour through the Northern Lights Trail, or kick back in Hammock Haven.

Rock Fest: July 18th – 20th

Since 1994, the 320 acre grounds in Cadott, WI have been welcoming rock enthusiasts from around the world to celebrate the current and classic rock classics. These enthusiasts are of all ages and will be rocking out to big names such as Evanescence, Five Finger Death Punch, and Rob Zombie as a part of the lineup for this year’s festivities. People come for the music and comradery, but they often find themselves getting some ink at Colours Couture, saying their vows at the Chapel of Love and taking everything in from above helicopter style.

OneFest: July 26th – 28th

This Christian Music Festival is kicking off its second annual year at the Northern Wisconsin State Fairgrounds. This family affair takes place over the course of two days and has plenty for all ages to do while listening to big names such as Newsboys, Francesca Battistelli, and Building 429. There will be bounce houses, youth games, outdoor sports, and indoor kids’ activities.

Chippewa Falls’ 150th Anniversary Celebration: August 8th – 11th

Chippewa Falls, WI is turning 150 this year and they are dedicating four days filled with musical acts to celebrate this Northwoods community’s past, present and future.

The Chippewa Falls Birthday Bash is taking over the Chippewa Riverfront Friday, August 9th from 4:30 PM – 11:00 PM night. Nationally recognized, soulful artist, Phil Cook will be coming home to Chippewa Falls and headlining the party from 8:00 PM - 10:00 PM. You’ll also want to check out Them Coulee Boys from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM, food trucks, beer tents and a firework display starting at 10:15 PM. Oh and did we forget to mention that the entire Birthday Bash is free?
