      The Past Passed Here

18th Annual The Past Passed Here

Chippewa County Historical Society, Inc. 715-723-4399

      Open to the Public: May 6 – 9, 2021

      Thursday & Friday, 3 - 6pm

      Saturday, 9am – 6pm

      Sunday, 10am – 3pm

Admision: per person $5, Family $15, Age five and under free.

NEW LOCATION: Marshall Park, 101 Bridgewater Ave., Chippewa Falls

To date more than 9,000 fourth grade students, who are studying Wisconsin history, have spent a day in camp. Last year our event was canceled due to Covid-19. This year there is still uncertainty caused by the pandemic, but we will follow CDC and Chippewa County Health Department safety guidelines with our plan to hold the French fur trade and lumbering era re-enactments. For the first time since 2003 the event will not include coordinated school system activities, because the schools do not know if field trips will be allowed. So, students in fourth grade classes in the Chippewa Valley, will not be able to attend this year. But, this year, fourth graders and their friends and families will be welcome and sincerely encouraged to attend when we are open to the public. Our hope is that next year we’ll be able to resume and enhance everyone’s experiences as in earlier years.

Tilden Lions Club volunteers will man our food booth. We will be selling buffalo burgers, brats, hotdogs, voyager stew, Olson’s Ice Cream, bottled Chippewa Spring water, root beer, root beer floats and bags of Old Dutch chips.

Thank you for your interest in this event. Please contact Jim at 715-726-2376 with comments or questions.
